Senior Connects

Senior Connects is a free program providing hands-on training to seniors on using technology, including computers, wireless devices, smartphones and tablets.

Classes are small, and participants can spend time using the technology and also getting one-on-one assistance from the instructors. The goal of the program is to help seniors determine what they want to use technology for, and how to accomplish the things they want to do.

Examples of the classes include:

  • Computer basics
  • Searching the web
  • Email
  • Skype
  • Social Networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
  • Connecting with communities (Pinterest, Meetup)
  • Connecting with services (library, doctor office)
  • Online dating
  • Streaming media (Pandora, podcasts, radio stations, ex. KQED)
  • Online gaming

In addition to structured classes, each session also offers open lab opportunities, when people can use the computers in our lab on their own, or with assistance from a staff person.

To register for one or more classes, or to find out specific topics for each day, please call (510) 841-3224. You can also email us to sign up for classes.
